Time is running out to enjoy ice skating in downtown Detroit. The last day for skating at Campus Martius Park is this weekend, so sharpen your skates and head over to the rink before it’s too late!
Although the holiday tree may be long gone from Campus Martius, the park is still one of the best locations to take in the sights and sounds of the heart of downtown Detroit. What better way to make the most of this cold weather than gliding across an ice rink? And did you know the rink at CMP is actually bigger than the one at Rockefeller Center? (Thanks MetroParent). Take that, New York!
If you’re like me and have been procrastinating to get friends together and hit the ice, you have until this Sunday, March 3 to cross this off your winter bucket list. The rink at Campus Martius will be open until 11am to 6pm through Thursday, 11am to midnight on Friday, 10am to 11pm on Saturday and noon to 8pm on Sunday. Admission is $7 for adults age 13-49, $6 for children 12 and under as well as seniors age 50 and over. If you don’t have your own ice skates, you can rent some there for $3.
An added bonus for adults, if you show your wristband from the rink at any Greektown Casino Hotel bar you can receive happy hour drink prices at any time of day!
Did you go skating at the rink at Campus Martius Park this winter? What did you enjoy most about it?
