Summer is in full swing and the streets of Detroit are bustling with all the excitement that warm weather brings. From biking and kayaking to movies in the park and more, here are 10 summertime activities you can enjoy. But don’t wait too long to cross these off your summer bucket list. Before we know it it’s going to be snowing again, right?
It’s no secret that downtown Detroit is home to some amazing restaurants with a wide variety of cuisines. But even with the great weather recently, sometimes you can’t (or don’t want) to leave the comfort of your luxury apartment at Broderick Tower for a bite to eat. Not to worry, these restaurants in and around the downtown area have you covered with door to door delivery service.
There’s nothing quite like starting your Saturday or Sunday with a good brunch. Thankfully, Broderick Tower residents have a variety of walkable options for some of the best brunch in Detroit. Foran’s Grand Trunk Pub, located just a few blocks down Woodward Ave. from Broderick, has a weekend brunch that’s not to be missed.
A question I often get asked about living in Detroit is, “Where do you grocery shop?” While there may not be a big grocery chain downtown (at least until Whole Foods opens in Midtown later this year), there are plenty of locally owned stores and specialty food shops to choose from. One of the many options is Honey Bee Market in southwest Detroit.
Since moving to the Broderick I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing many great things about living in downtown Detroit. And I have to say one of the best things is the proximity to a variety of great local restaurants and bars, which I plan to highlight in Foodie Feature posts dedicated to this very topic.
