Broderick Tower first pierced the skyline of Detroit in 1928 at Grand Circus,
the epicenter of Agustus Woodward’s hub and spoke street plan.
The 34-story skyscraper, designed with neoclassical architecture,
Chicago school, and Beaux-Arts design, was originally constructed
as the Eaton Tower under the direction of famed architect Louis Kamper.
When completed, it became one of Detroit’s magnificent structures and the
second tallest skyscraper in Michigan.
In 1945 this grand building was acquired by David Broderick, a Detroit insurance
broker, who renamed it after himself and managed it until his death in 1957. Broderick
Tower has had numerous owners over the next 20 years before being purchased by
the Higgins Family in 1976. The building lost most of its tenants in the mid 80’s
collapse of the Detroit office market. Stood mostly vacant but preserved.
Today ownership belongs to Motown Construction Partners, LLC, a firm dedicated
to maintain Detroit’s glorious past. Broderick Tower has undergone a grand
modern renovation, while keeping a grounding to the glamours of the golden twenties.
Whether it is the spectacular views, classic architecture, modern stylish living,
downtown vibrancy or historic grace, Broderick Tower is designed to stir the
senses and suit your desires.
